Nestled along the Southern shore of Lake Ontario, between Syracuse and Buffalo, the city of Rochester NY has a unique climate and topography that bring together certain factors and conditions not found in many other places on earth. The Monroe County Department of Transportation uses more road salt to combat ice and snow during the winter than most other metropolitan areas, and this means that a Rochester collision shop has more difficult problems to contend with when working on automobiles in this area.
The western suburbs of Brockport, Hilton, and Churchville are often hit hardest and first by winter storms coming from Buffalo and Erie PA, so the conditions there are often harsh and unpredictable.
